The Jerry Seinfeld Dictionary of Terms and Phrases

Saturday July 19, 2008
The Funny Site of the Day -- From ''Airport Pickup'' to ''Yada, Yada, Yada,'' uncover multitudes of definitions and explanations of terms and punch lines found in the modern classic TV sitcom, Seinfeld. An excellent companion piece to the sardonic world of George, Elaine, Kramer, and Jerry. I like it.
--Mike, aspiring "Hipster Doofus"

How Do You Hide an Elephant? - Photo Gallery

Thursday July 17, 2008
The Funny Site of the Day -- In the early 1960s, chic conversation for kids and cocktail parties would include, more often than not, the surreal, cutting edge riddles known as Elephant Jokes. Gems like:
What is big and gray and bounces? An elephant on a pogo stick.
What's the difference between a pickle and an elephant? A pickle always forgets.
What do you get if you cross an elephant with a bee? Squashed flowers.
If storks bring human babies, what bring baby elephants? Cranes.

What else? Storks with hernias.

Jump ahead to the modern age of advanced image editing software and the elephant joke hurdles from the verbal to the visual. Worth 1000, as in "a picture's worth a thousand words," created a contest asking its readership, "How do you hide an elephant?" More than 50 remarkable and silly images landed in the resulting photo display.

Who knew elephants could be disguised as a school bus, an outhouse, or a sheep? Of course, now that I've pointed out those revelations, your eyes will go right to them. Sorry about that, but try to locate the other elephants stuffed in the mammoth collection.

New JibJab: Time for Some Campaignin'

Wednesday July 16, 2008
The Funny Site of the Day -- The animators at JibJab have become beloved and extremely popular for their occasional series of good-natured political satires in a distinctive, musical-cartoony style. The Election 2008 episode is the studio's most elaborate entry to date, reworking Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are A-Changin'."

As the candidates battling for the nation's love and, probably, ballots, John McCain and Barack Obama take center stage and some heat in the colorful, gag-filled music video, assisted by secret comedy weapons: Those Pesky Clintons.

As part of JibJab's Sendables, an array of email specialties, Time for Some Campaignin' allows you to put yourself into the picture, like me, and share for free.
