Achewood is a web comic created and written by Bay Area cartoonist Chris Onstad. Onstad began Achewood in 2001 with anthropomorphic characters inspired by stuffed animals, toys, and cats, presenting a detailed view of a world never seen by humans.

Achewood has an absurdist tone, with characters finding themselves landing on the moon in a homemade rocket, competing in organized last-man-standing fights with 3,000 participants, or struggling to handle out-of-control Mexican merchandise with magical powers. But it's the hilarious interactions of strongly defined cast of characters, from the wide-eyed and innocent stuffed otter Phillipe to the easy-going, reckless but nevertheless charmed Ray the cat, that make Achewood worth a read.
