Celebrities get a lot of praise for being beautiful and talented, but not all fan correspondence is friendly, or even polite. Many stars who frequently interact with their fan base using Twitter have found themselves in heated exchanges with their so-called fans, and though we're sure they've developed an artist's thick skin over the years, some of those nasty Tweets have got to sting.
Comedian Jimmy Kimmel knows how hurtful, yet strangely funny, these hate-Tweets can be, which is why he created a segment on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, called "Celebrities Read Mean Tweets." To date, Kimmel has featured this segment three times, and each time it never fails to amuse.
Watch as the adorable Anna Faris stares down her adversaries, and Will Ferrell addresses his hate mail... from the bathroom. You can check out all three "Celebrities Read Mean Tweets" on YouTube here: Video 1, Video 2, and Video 3.
Below I've listed my fifteen favorite Celebs reading mean tweets. Enjoy!
Sometimes the best reactions are just a deadpan stare. Exhibit A: Justin Bieber. Also, I may or may not have written this tweet. (Just kidding, I didn't. But I kind of wish I had.)
Leave it to Will Ferrell to take the joke to a whole 'nother level! What better way to prove that he doesn't give a crap about what people say about him, than by reading the mean tweet while on the toilet?
I adore Anna Faris. Just look at the coy look she gives the camera after reading this juvenile tweet about herself. This is yet another reason why I want her to be my BFF (best friend forever). Can any of you make that happen? No? Darn it.
Will Arnett is a master of the faux-clueless blank stare. I love how he can turn any insult into a kinda-sorta compliment. Dracula... ha!
Poor, pretty Kristen Bell. People are so mean! Her "crushed" reaction at the end is just plain adorable. I love how she tries to laugh it off, and fails.
Sometimes a simple, "Eff you!" suffices, right Anderson Cooper?
This is probably the harshest of all of the mean tweets (even though it might be just a tiny bit relatable to many of us!), and Katy's reaction is perfect.
Old? Not Joey! I think the gray hair makes him look distinguished, and his reaction to this tweet makes me like him all the more.
Burn! I think we can all agree that making fun of Snooki is instant comedy gold.
Selena seems so nice, and her reaction to this insult is exactly what we'd expect from her. Also? That tweet was funny!
