'The Man'

Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy Comedy Movie

by Mike Durrett
for About.com

From New Line Cinema: "When it's learned that [a dead Federal] Agent was 'on the take' in a multi-million dollar arms heist, all eyes turn toward his partner, Derrick Vann (Samuel L. Jackson), a hardcore undercover Federal Agent known for his untrusting, street-wise style. Vann's given 24 hours to recover the stolen arms and find the cop killers.... Enter Andy Fiddler (Eugene Levy), an affable, optimistic dental supply salesman in town for a two-day convention. When the bad guys mistake Andy to be the buyer in a stolen arms deal, Vann is forced to utilize the talkative salesman as 'the face' of his sting operation."

"The Man" began as a vehicle for Eugene Levy, who's become known to young moviegoers from "American Pie" and "Bringing Down the House," but, based on the trailer, this predictable action-comedy is a massive departure from his glorious "SCTV" period. See for yourself at the official movie site, featuring a photo gallery, screen saver, desktop wallpapers, free ringtones, and production notes on "The Man."
