David Sedaris: Excerpt from "Naked"
The National Public Radio commentator, whose essays appear regularly in "The New Yorker," has published several books of humor including "Barrel Fever" and "Me Talk Pretty One Day."

In a third volume, "Naked," Sedaris recalls those strangely universal childhood rituals when we were compelled to lick light switches or count our footsteps on the long walk home from school.
