Early on in my absorption of the talented brain trust amok on television's landmark "Monty Python's Flying Circus" series, I happened upon their sketch of a mild mannered chap who longed to be an outdoorsman. He burst into song, proud with glee to find himself surrounded in a patch of boisterous, caroling lumberjacks. The bit, helmed by infectious comic Michael Palin, could've ended here, but, oh no, not before the Python twist.
It was at the moment of this absurdist spin that I became a fan of these whippersnappers for eternity.
Nope, I'm not going to reveal the surprise. And that's OK!
