On August 1, 1981, The Buggles' song "Video Killed the Radio Star" launched a much ballyhooed project known as MTV: Music Television into the air and pulsating coaxial cables. From that day forward, the importance of records with pictures minimized the domination and cultural guidance of AM/FM powerhouses throughout the global universe.

Tables have turned again, thanks to the little endeavor you and I are sharing at this very moment: The Net. It seems no one watches much TV anymore, except as substitute entertainment when they can't get access to the keyboard and mouse. The current battle cry, seemingly, is, "I want my ISP!"

Today's featured Web cartoon, says producer eStudio.com, "like the video it parodies, 'Internet Killed' chronicles the explosive growth of a whole new medium." It's a catchy satire with some sophomoric elements involving sex and violence.
