A Funny Site of the Day with your Guide Mike Durrett Well, ol' Abe has a crack publicist there, doesn't he? Flattering spin. This eye-popping cartoon
series is dizzily jubilant in its political incorrectness, rewriting the history of the
16th U. S. President, a-swirling in suds and time warps. The jabs whiz past and you're
three gags down the trail before you comprehend the jolt you saw seconds before. Three-time Emmy winner Mike Reiss is this Lincoln's biographer. He comes from years as producer-writer of "The Simpsons" and the woefully overlooked "The Critic," teaming with veteran online animator Xeth Feinberg ("Bulbo," "Astro-Chimp"). Together, they helm boisterously funny work. It's not hard to imagine these animations as "Fractured Fairy Tales" on Rocky and Bullwinkle's loopy show had it been conceived 40 years later. The approach is the same, only our world has gone to Hell. It's a difficult line to cross to make tastelessness transcend easy shock hoots, then enter the realm of the truly comical. To do so, there must be elements of wit, executed through talent, commitment and a deft touch. "Hard Drinkin' Lincoln" has all these. I laughed. I hate myself. I'm going to watch more. The "Hard Drinkin' Lincoln" link will take you to the cartoons on the Icebox.com site, but there is a charge involved. For a free episode, visit the animation studio, Mishmash Media. For more, try Mondo Mini Shows. Contains strong language, adult concepts, violence, hard drinkin'. Need Shockwave? Free downloads. Filter this
