Born 1931: Rita Moreno, Academy Award-winning actress ("West Side Story"), "The King and I," "Popi," "Carnal Knowledge," "The Ritz," "The Four Seasons."

Born 1935: Comic actor Ron Carey in Newark, NJ. He's best-known for his portrayal of Officer Carl Levitt on the "Barney Miller" television series (1976-1982) and in a succession of Mel Brooks' motion pictures: "Silent Movie," "High Anxiety," and "History of the World: Part I."

Born 1946: Teri Garr, Lakewood, Ohio. This fine comedic actress began her movie career as an extra and/or dancer in five Elvis Presley musicals ("Fun in Acapulco," "Kissin' Cousins," "Viva Las Vegas," "Roustabout," "Clambake"). Her movie comedies include "Oh, God!" "Mr. Mom," and "Tootsie," for which she was Oscar-nominated as Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Ms. Garr will always be revered as ditsy Inga, the object of "Young Frankenstein's" affection, a woman blushingly proud of her "nice knockers!"
