Born 1917: June Allyson, actress, "Best Foot Forward," "Good News," "The Bride Goes Wild," "The Opposite Sex," "You Can't Run Away From It," "My Man Godfrey" (1957).

1941: Red Skelton debuted his radio show, beginning three decades in network broadcasting.
