Born 1909: Mary Livingstone, actress, a non-performer who married comedian Jack Benny and he put her to work in his radio shows. She was a natural, playing his girlfriend in radio and television for decades. Died 1983.

Born 1920: Paul Frees, voice actor, comedian, Boris Badenov and Inspector Fenwick on "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle,"  Disney's Prof. Ludwig Von Drake, "The Beatles" cartoons' George and John. His most universally beloved role was in commercials as Poppinfresh the Pillsbury Doughboy. Died 1986.

Born 1947: David L. Lander, actor, Squiggy on "Laverne and Shirley."

Born 1954: Freddie Prinze, stand-up comedian, actor, "Chico and the Man." Died 1977. Father of Freddie Prinze, Jr.

1988: "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" opened in theatres, starring Bob Hoskins and comedian Charles Fleischer as the voice of the bumbling bunny. His knockout human wife, Jessica, may have been too much woman for any man, so it's fitting she was voiced by two actresses, Kathleen Turner and Amy Irving (singing).
