Born 1949: Jim Varney, actor, "Fernwood 2Nite," "Operation Petticoat" (1977), Jed Clampett in "The Beverly Hillbillies" (1993), voice of Slinky Dog in "Toy Story" and its sequel. He is best known for that "Hey, Vern" guy, Ernest P. Worrell in TV commercials and a long series of movies, including "Ernest Goes to Camp," "Ernest Saves Christmas," "Ernest Goes to Jail," "Ernest Scared Stupid," "Ernest Goes to Africa," and "Slam Dunk Ernest." Died 2000.

Born 1955: Julie Hagerty, actress, "Airplane!" "A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy," "Lost in America," "What About Bob?"

Born 1954: Jim Belushi, comedian, actor, "Working Stiffs," "Saturday Night Live," "Little Shop of Horrors" (1986), "Real Men," "K-9," "Only the Lonely," "Curly Sue," "According to Jim." Brother of John Belushi.

Born 1963: Helen Hunt, Academy Award-winning actress, "Peggy Sue Got Married," "Mr. Saturday Night," "Mad About You," "As Good As It Gets," "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion."

Born 1964: Courteney Cox, actress, "Family Ties," "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," "Friends."

Born 1969: Ice Cube, rapper, actor, "Friday," "Next Friday," "All About the Benjamins," "Barbershop," "Friday After Next."
