Born 1929: Burt Bacharach, songwriter, film score composer, "What's New, Pussycat?" "Casino Royale," "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid," "Arthur" (songs). Also known for his cameo appearances in the "Austin Powers" films; comedian Mike Myers has said Bacharach's "Look of Love" recording was an inspiration for the character.

Born 1937: George Carlin, stand-up comedian, writer ("Napalm and Silly Putty"), actor ("With Six You Get Eggroll," "That Girl," "Outrageous Fortune," "Car Wash").
