Born 1911: Frank Nelson, comedian, actor, "The Jack Benny Program," "I Love Lucy." Died 1986.

Born 1915: Orson Welles, actor, writer, director, "Catch-22," "Start the Revolution Without Me," "The Muppet Movie." Died 1985.

1957: Technically, the final episode of "I Love Lucy" aired on CBS, but the Ricardo and Mertz adventures continued until 1960 in "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour," an occasional series of specials.
