Born 1904: Raymond Bailey, actor, "No Time for Sergeants" (1958), "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," Milton Drysdale on "The Beverly Hillbillies." Died 1980.

Born 1911: Frank Nelson, comedian, actor, "The Jack Benny Program," "I Love Lucy." Died 1986.

Born 1915: Orson Welles, actor, writer, director, "Catch-22," "Start the Revolution Without Me," "The Muppet Movie." Died 1985.

1957: Technically, the final episode of "I Love Lucy" aired on CBS, but the Ricardo and Mertz adventures continued until 1960 in "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour," an occasional series of specials.

Born 1961: George Clooney, actor, "The Facts of Life," "Roseanne," "One Fine Day," "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind."

1983: Cheech and Chong's "Still Smokin'" opened in theatres.

1984: "The Jeffersons" were movin' on out of CBS after their last episode.
