Born 1935: Dudley Moore, comedian, comedy partner of Peter Cook, writer, actor, "Foul Play," "10," "Arthur." Died 2002.

Born 1937: Elinor Donahue, actress, Betty "Princess" Anderson on "Father Knows Best," Ellie on "The Andy Griffith Show," Miriam on "The Odd Couple," Gladys Peterson on "Get A Life."

2001: Mel Brooks' 1968 film morphed into a Broadway phenomenon, as the musical comedy premiered with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick in the roles of Max and Leo.
