Born 1922: Christopher Hewett, actor, TV's "Mr. Belvedere." Died 2001.

Born 1934: Frank Gorshin, comedian, impressionist, actor, The Riddler on TV's "Batman."

Born 1943: Max Gail, actor, Wojo on "Barney Miller."

1987: The Al and Peg Bundy family debuted on "Married ... With Children." It was one of the Fox-TV network's first sitcoms, running for 11 seasons. The same evening, "The Tracey Ullman Show" premiered with short cartoons introducing The Simpsons.
