Born 1887: Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, major silent film comedian. Died 1933.

Born 1901: U.B. Iwerks, animator, director, giant contributor to Walt Disney's success, including the creation of Mickey Mouse. Died 1971.

Born 1911: Joseph Barbera, animator, director, producer, co-founder Hanna-Barbera cartoon studio, worked with all the big stars: "Tom and Jerry," "The Flintstones," "The Jetsons," "Scooby-Doo," "Yogi Bear," "Huckleberry Hound," "Johnny Bravo," and many others.

Born 1923: Kermit Schafer, TV and radio producer, author, pioneer collector of broadcast and film bloopers.

Born 1924: Norman Fell, actor, landlord Mr. Roper on "Three's Company." Died 1998.

1982: Cult cannibal comedy "Eating Raoul" opened in theatres.
