Born 1914: Ward Kimball, Disney animator and director, designed Jiminy Cricket and the modern Mickey Mouse. His film credits include "Snow White and Seven Dwarfs" (1937), "Pinocchio" (1940), "Dumbo" (1941), "Alice in Wonderland" (1951), "Peter Pan" (1953), "Mary Poppins" (1964). Died 2002.

1924: That ever-popular song "Happy Birthday to You" was published.

Born 1939: Paula Prentiss, actress, "Where the Boy's Are" (1960), "Bachelor in Paradise" (1961), "Man's Favorite Sport?" (1964), "What's New, Pussycat" (1965), "He & She" (1967-68), "Catch-22" (1970), "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" (1972).
