Department of Cartoons
This rich resource has grown into a major animation treasure-trove. Way back
on September 17, 1998, we highlighted "The Flintstones" page:
From 1960-66, 166 first-run half-hour episodes of this popular animated favorite -- almost titled "The Flagstones" -- aired. Cartoon Network's loving site presents early fossilized clips, comparison storyboards, model sheets and commentary from creator Joe Barbera.
Since that time, dozens of star characters and animators, both classic and contemporary, have had similar departments constructed around them with insight and memories of their creativity.
Among the spotlighted artists (mostly from Hanna-Barbera productions): "The Powerpuff Girls," "Tom and Jerry," "Quick Draw McGraw," Tex Avery, "The Jetsons," "Johnny Bravo," "Dexter's Laboratory," "Looney Tunes," "Courage the Cowardly Dog," "Yogi Bear," "Sheep in the Big City," "Space Ghost," "Top Cat," "2 Stupid Dogs," and "Cow and Chicken."
