Humor's Daily Surprise!

11/28/98

Burma-Shave in the Fifties
Along American highways from 1925 to 1963, motorists actually looked forward to the next advertisement, that is when Burma-Shave products were involved. While cars whizzed by, on a sequence of four to six signs, clever, poetic slogans were continued until the product name revealed itself on the final post. For instance:

"On curves ahead...
Remember, sonny...
That rabbit's foot...
Didn't save...
The bunny...
Burma-Shave"

From the Fifties Web, enjoy ten dozen of these classic commercials.
