After seven or eight hours, it makes you laugh your head off, as you reach for the hatchet and... That was our commentary on this silliness back in the early days when "The Hampster Dance" was on its way to becoming a huge Internet phenomenon. Since then, there have been ballrooms full of dance page impersonators and some changes have been administered to the original hamster concept. ("Hampster," by the way, is not misspelled, but a tribute to a pet named Hampton.) The hamsters have gone interactive, allowing you to control the speed of the music and their steps. The best twist, however, lets you to drag and place the now familiar characters into any position on the page. Give them new partners while you doodle the night away. There are also spinoff versions to commemorate Christmas, Birthdays and Graduations. And, of course, these little fur-balls will sell you stuff, too. |
