A Funny Site of the Day with Mike Durrett

Little seen curiosities of '50s and '60s television are presented in these commercials headlined by sitcom stars on their programs -- "The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show," "The Andy Griffith Show," "Gomer Pyle," "Green Acres," "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet," and "Yogi Bear" to name several. Also working: The Marx Bros., The Three Stooges, and Carol Channing.

These clips are part of the wonderful TV Party site, which is loaded with comedic and non-humorous material from our boob tube past, including more commercials.

There's a page of "Cigarette Advertising on TV," featuring what might be seen as dark humor today -- and celebrities. Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball (in human and animated forms), John Wayne, and the cast of "Topper" are shown pitching tobacco products. Don't miss the amazing spot from "The Flintstones" with Fred and Barney smoking butts for Winstons cigarettes.

The RealPlayer plug-in is necessary. Free downloads.
