- 2002: "Eduardo Segura, of Lavakan de Aste, in Tarragona, Spain, for inventing a washing machine for cats and dogs."
- 2000: "The British Royal Navy, for ordering its sailors to stop using live cannon shells, and to instead just shout 'Bang!'"
- 1997: "Mark Hostetler of the University of Florida, for his scholarly book, 'That Gunk on Your Car'" which identifies the insect splats that appear on automobile windows."
