"The Bickersons"

From Mike Durrett, About.com Guide

"The Bickersons": This old time radio series from the 1940s was an extremely popular situation comedy performed by Don Ameche and Frances Langford as battling spouses, John and Blanche Bickerson. Other actors portrayed the parts in later years with Lew Parker ("That Girl") joining Langford and the non-stop petty insults on the television series.

The unhappy couple was routinely overheard during their vituperative pillow talk sessions, spouting marital mayhem drenched in caustic wit.

Listen and Watch: The program was created and written by Phillip Rapp. At his family's official site devoted to the show and "Baby Snooks," also by Rapp, find background information and photographs, along with rare video and audio clips. Numerous radio snippets can be heard on the "Products" page, as samples of recordings for sale.
