"A Mighty Wind" Comedy Movie TrailerPlay this trailer

(2003) A tongue-in-cheek send-up of the 1960's folk music scene from improvisational performers Christopher Guest, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Fred Willard, Parker Posey, and others. The setting: Icon groups The Folksmen, Mitch and Mickey, and The New Mainstreet Singers gather for a reunion concert, sharing magic, memories, and sniping.

Review:

The trailer is hysterical, although some of its humor depends on knowledge of the genre and hit artists like Peter, Paul, and Mary and The Kingston Trio. The accompanying Warner Bros. Web site continues the mockumentary elements with photos, video clips, and album cuts from the film, directed by Guest ("Waiting for Guffman," "Best of Show"). Think "This Is Spinal Tap" for folk pop.
