'Looney Tunes: Back in Action'

''Looney Tunes: Back in Action'': Brendan Fraser, Jenna Elfman, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Steve Martin splash across the screen in a quacky, wacky new Warner Bros. cartoon/live-action comedy. In director-cartoon fan Joe Dante's ("Gremlins," "Twilight Zone: The Movie") care, out-of-work Daffy embarks on an around the world trip to find a jewel.

Okay, show of hands, who would be seeing this picture for the plot? C'mon, it's a Looney Tunes extravaganza, go for the laughs.

What I Like: Two complete cartoons to view, Bugs Bunny in "A Star Is Bored" and Friz Freleng's marvelous "You Ought to Be in Pictures," one of my favorites. Obviously, "Looney Tunes: Back in Action" is giving a nod to the daring 1940 live action and animated short. This time, Daffy coaxes Porky Pig to quit cartoons and try his luck in features. Things don't go smoothly for the boys. One of the greats!
