Comedy Movie Preview: 'The Aristocrats'
Saturday July 9, 2005
THE FUNNY SITE OF THE DAY -- THINKFilm describes a curious documentary: ''Comedy veterans and co-creators Penn Jillette and Paul Provenza capitalize on their insider status and invite over 100 of their closest friends, (who happen to be some of the biggest names in entertainment, from George Carlin, Whoopi Goldberg, Drew Carey to Gilbert Gottfried, Bob Saget, Paul Reiser and Sarah Silverman,) to reminisce, analyze, deconstruct and deliver their own versions of the world's dirtiest joke, an old burlesque routine, too extreme to be performed in public, called 'The Aristocrats.'
"One of the smash hits of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, this star-studded comedy extravaganza, which celebrates the art of improvisation and the finest (and most foul-mouthed) traditions of stand-up, is sure to stretch the limits of its audience, particularly for how loud and long they can laugh."
Reports are this film is, whether intentional or otherwise, an excellent primer on the art of comedy, but the vile barrage of hardcore humor from Tim Conway, Robin Williams, Steven Wright, Lewis Black, David Brenner, Carrot Top, Rita Rudner, Richard Jeni, Eric Idle, Rip Taylor, Phyllis Diller, Don Rickles, and dozens more is not for everyone.
Me? I'll be engaged in serial cola spit-takes.

Watch: "The Aristocrats" Movie Trailer -- When I saw a version on view at Apple, it was fully cleansed. Sometimes these things do change, so be forewarned.
Watch: "South Park" Joke -- Yep, TV's bawdiest kiddies get in on the act with an animated clip produced for "The Aristocrats," presented online by Rotten Tomatoes. Their contribution is a scorcher and beyond offensive, an example of what's to come throughout the entire film. This scene is NOT SUITABLE FOR WORK, NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN, NOT SUITABLE FOR ADULTS, NOT SUITABLE FOR EARTH AS WE KNOW IT.
Perhaps, I should buy the jumbo Coke.
