Betty Boop Cartoon Classics

Monday September 22, 2008
The Funny Site of the Day -- One of moviedom's grand ladies, Ms. Boop made her screen debut on Aug. 9, 1930, as a poodle in Max and Dave Fleischer's Dizzy Dishes for Paramount Pictures. Within two years, she had transformed into a curvy, wavy sex symbol and major star. Dozens of her 1930s films are viewable at the Internet Archive's Moving Images gallery. Boop's jazzed. Me, too.
