With that mission statement, Lifehacker proceeds to list and describe a ten-pack of delightful misery you may unleash on you computer buddies -- and the practical jokes are harmless, as long as no one pops like a tick.

Several capers, like the Blue Screen of Death Screensaver and upside-down monitor images, have been around for years, but they are amusing gifts that keep on giving. I especially enjoy contemplating the "Fill an Office With Packing Peanuts" option, remote control mousing, and "Fake a Desktop With Screenshot Wallpaper."

Because I telecommute alongside a feline fellow, I'll probably opt to swap his catnip toy with a big bone and call him "Lassie."
