Garfield Minus Garfield

Saturday March 1, 2008
The Funny Site of the Day -- There's been a bit of a renaissance with the Garfield comic strip of late, but not in the classic manner. First, there were the surreal live-action Lasagna Cat reenactments of the cartoons and, now, Garfield Minus Garfield.

Here's that Minus touch:

"Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? Friends, meet Jon Arbuckle. Let’s laugh and learn with him on a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness in a quiet American suburb."
I found myself laughing out loud at several of these regularly updated altered takes, something I used to do during the first year or so of the actual, full-strength Garfield adventures. Grab a look and join me in saying, "Go kitty, kitty, kitty."
