Comedy Movie Preview: 'Nanny McPhee'

Sunday January 15, 2006
The Funny Site of the Day -- The anti-Mary Poppins with unusual child-rearing tricks. Says Universal Studios:
"Emma Thompson, whose first screenplay won the 1995 Oscar for 'Sense and Sensibility,' returns to screenwriting with 'Nanny McPhee," a motion picture adaptation of the 'Nurse Matilda' books by Christianna Brand. Thompson, the only person to have won Oscars for both acting and writing, also plays the title role in 'Nanny McPhee,' opposite Colin Firth, KellyMacdonald and -- in her first role for the big screen in two decades -- Angela Lansbury.

"In this dark and witty fable, Thompson portrays a person of unsettling appearance and magical powers who enters the house hold of the recently widowed Mr. Brown (Firth) and attempts to tame his seven exceedingly ill-behaved children."
Why, it's slapstickcalifragilisticexpialidocious! At the official "Nanny McPhee" movie site, see the trailer, animated credit sequence, and photo gallery, plus download a screen saver, desktop wallpapers, and ecards. Extra fun can be found with the Dress the Animals time killer and the Food Fight game.

Nanny McPhee was a pretty good movie. I fall asleep during most movies I rent for my 4 year old or she does not like the movie and looses interest. In this case we found a happy medium. That said, I too have written a review: Nanny McPhee
