Comedy Movie Preview: 'The Bad News Bears'

THE FUNNY SITE OF THE DAY -- Time once again for The Superfluous Hollywood Remake of the Month Club, featuring Billy Bob Thornton and Greg Kinnear in a carcass-munching retread of Michael Ritchie's perfectly enjoyable and contemporary 1976 original. That one, the story of Little League misfits, starred the great Walter Matthau, plus Vic Morrow and Tatum O'Neal, and was so hugely popular, it lead to several sequels and, for mostly worse, has been the template for nearly every sports comedy since, including the recent "Screaming and Kicking" and "Rebound."
