New, Nutty, Noteworthy

Thursday July 1, 2004
• Them televisions. Try one.
• Them DVDs. Here are the latest comedy releases:
''Barbershop 2: Back in Business'' (2004) -- Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer in 'do deux. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the first ''Barbershop'' and look forward to seeing this one. Rinse. Repeat. 'Do deux.
''Blazing Saddles'': 30th Anniversary Special Edition (1974) -- Great then. Great now. Pardon me while I whip this out.
''Dracula: Dead and Loving It'' (1995) -- Mel Brooks' blazing vampire is not great, but it doesn't suck.
''Fancy Pants'' (1950) -- Mr. Robert Hope and Lucille Ball in a fast, foxy farce. I've followed this bouncy Bob and Ball many times. One of my favorites as a kid.

''Garfield as Himself'' -- ''Here Comes Garfield," "Garfield on the Town," and "Garfield Gets a Life" animated TV specials in a litter-free boxed set.
"Ron White: They Call Me 'Tater Salad'"(2003) -- Tater Salad tattles in a stand-up concert, reminiscent of his "Blue Collar Comedy Tour."
''South Park'': Season 4 -- Four disc set.
''The Dick Van Dyke Show'': Season 5 (1965) -- The final batch of the landmark sitcom.
''William Hung: Hangin' With Hung'' (2004) -- Lethal injection would be more humane.
