Funny at the Movies: "The Haunted Mansion" and "Peter Pan"
Saturday November 15, 2003
THE FUNNY SITE OF THE DAY -- In "The Haunted Mansion," Eddie Murphy and family are roomies in an old dark house with 999 ghosts! After "Pirates of the Caribbean," Walt Disney Productions creates another feature-length commercial to cleverly promote their theme park attractions. What's next? "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride"? "It's a Small World"? Or, my favorite, "Oops, the Too Too-Fresh Turnstile"?Go: "The Haunted Mansion" official movie site with photos, production notes, wallpapers, and behind-the-scenes clips. There's also a cool ''Haunted Mansion'' 3-D Ghost Vision Tour.
Watch: The trailers weren't functioning during my visit, so try these alternate sources at IMdb (Windows Media, Real Player).
Also: J.M. Barrie's timeless classic, ''Peter Pan,'' gets its first fully realized screen treatment in the sumptuous production helmed by writer-director P.J. Hogan (''My Best Friend's Wedding''). The great adventure with comic flair stars Jeremy Sumpter as Peter, Jason Isaacs as Hook, Olivia Williams as Mrs. Darling, Lynn Redgrave as Aunt Millicent, and Ludivine Sagnier as Tinker Bell. It's P-nutty!
