Disney's Toontown Online

Monday June 30, 2003
THE FUNNY SITE OF THE DAY -- There's trouble in Toontown. Are you wacky enough to stop it?

Toontown.com explains: "Evil robots called Cogs are trying to turn this colorful Toon world into a black-and-white metropolis of skyscrapers and businesses. Mickey and his friends are calling on all available Toons to help stop these mechanical menaces by pelting them with cream pies, seltzer water, flower pots, and lots of other toony gags."

Vaguely associated with the Roger Rabbit films and classic Disney characters, Toontown is a huge 3-D universe equipped as a multiplayer Internet game for all ages, seven and up. Players assume a Toon identity, confront games and evil robots, and chat with other participants, including Mickey Mouse.

Disney offers free trial admissions to Toontown; otherwise, it is definitely a paid subscription role-playing game. I enjoyed my hour in the big city, but I've always yearned to see Peoria. Kids, however, will not only revisit the cartoony fantasy land, they'll be taking up residency, an advanced possibility hinted to exist within the full-service treatment.

Disney's Toontown operates on Windows PCs using an Internet Explorer browser, 5.01 or higher. Other computer requirements apply. Your compatibility will be verified automatically or you may check the extensive technical and general game FAQ.
